Week 57 (An exercise in Flemish weave)

Weaver's log, Earthdate 13042015
After one week of Easter break and one week of reading books about flemish weaving, it's finally time to start weaving. This first weave is a practise weave that my teacher did when she was a student her self. All I have to do is follow the instructions and I will be a pro in no time.

This first part is about gradients and that is going fairly smooth. But somehow I have managed to flip the image, but it's not too big of a deal this time as its an exercise in technique.

Today I was on a field trip to Östersund, visiting the spinnery that my inlay was spun at and Jamtli a museum that among its collections have the original Överhogdal tapestries. I have seen them a few times but it's always magical to see so much fabric that survived for over 900 years.

Back to work and now it's even steeper gradients that were on the schedule.
