Week 32 (Indigo and carting a loom threw Sveg)

Weaver's log, Earthdate 15092014
I started the day with a snarl of some wool yarn, but my friend helped me with it thankfully. Then I made a hank of some linen thread. The wool and the linen is for the blue we are to dye with indigo this week with the textile class. One of my classmates were with us as well and together we formed one of the groups. The first thing one has to do when dyeing with indigo is to prepare the dye and make it to a sort of concentrate. Oh ya, I forgot before school I went and bought a loom at a second-hand store in Sveg. Unfortunately, the car that I got to get it home was too small so I had to walk in later with a kart to pick it up.

Today the dying were to happen for real, but first, we hade to make a bathe that the colour concentrate where to go in to. Dying with indigo works really different as the dyeing I did earlier this year, as the first time you put something in you have it in only for 10 minutes and if you are not satisfied with the colour or it got spots on it you can just dip it in again for 5 min after it has rested for about 15 minutes. My friends birthday where today too so she got the bag I made her and she loved it.

Then I saw all the yarn I have dyed during this 3 day period I'm starting to think that I might have overdone it a wee bit. The reason why I left so early last semester still haunts me, and I had to go home today and don't know when I will be back at school.
