Week 34 (Warping for the warp weighted loom)

Weaver's log, Earthdate 29092014
Monday and my plan are to make a draft for my warp-weighted weft and to start the warping. Unfortunately, my teacher and mentor felt ill and quickly just showed me how to do the warping before she left to go home, so I wear pretty much on my own. So after I wrote the draft I started making balls of threads of the yarn for the warp.

I realised that 0,8 kilos aren't the same as 0,8 of a hank after some time, so I put the rest on bobbins. Thankfully one of my old classmates from last year could help me with some things that I didn't know, so later I measured two threads one red and one blue of the length of the warp so I could pre-draw the thread to see how to best draw it in the warp frame that I'm using, it and with some creative thinking I got a way to do it that am satisfied with.

Today where the schools 60th birthday and as we have teachers who love cake, we got cake. Unfortunately and fortunately, I noticed in the nick of time that the edge had hazelnuts on it so I got some ice cream and my classmate told me to dip my gingerbread cookies in coffee and put it on top it was delicious. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BÄCKEDAL.

Warping has now commenced and it's going slow, as the warp is so long I have to pull it on several spots to get it over all the pegs. Today I did only 48 threads, and am starting to realise that this will not take two days as I first planned.

More warping and for the first time on this insane project am complaining and as it is the first time I do it, I feel entitled to it. Today's thread count ended on lousy 30.
