Haven't done any tent stuff for some time so its time to do some. All the eyelets are sewn in and its time for the rope loops to be made, opened the package for the 6 mm rope I ordered then I realised my 8mm would be too thick, and it was quite fussy. So after cutting out lengths for all but the two lowest once (those will be done last to make them reach the ground). To remove the worst of the fussiness I went out to the shop and clamped them into the vice and hit it with a lighter carefully, this burns the small strands away. I realised that there was a lot more that wasn't poking out so I rubbed the rope back and forth to get most of them to the surface so they could be burnt off.

Then that was done I did some thinking of how to make them bulky enough so they cant slip out if the eyelet but slime so I could sew on backing so they stay in place. I went with instead of tying a knot I put the ends side by side and sewed them together about 2,5 cm from the top, then folded that over and sewed and wrapped it with the sewing thread down. Time ran away and I didn't get the chance to sew any of them in unfortunately today.

we are starting on the scarfs today and with the warp for them came the yarn am to dye and do my diamond twill out of. Its 20/2 redgarn from Kampes. This dark blue is what I and my classmate will have as warp in our scarfs.

Today we put all four warps in their looms, it's nice to have some more people in the weaving room and working together, then my usual lonesome self.

All did their heddeling today and as there are only 96 threads I got it done in no time, I tried a new way to slay today, instead of having the reed in the beater I hung it in front of the heddles, I can see the pros and cons of doing it this way, don't know if I will always do it this way in the future though.
