As I am done weaving the broken diamond twill and no teacher, I went back to weave point and started on another fabric I got a glans of in the paper of the textiles from Coppergate. A honeycomb no less. Slowly I work through the weave, moving the weave point window as a guide where I have been in the weave. This is what I hade then I finished for the day, It looks a bit odd with 6 shafts and 5 treadles but I'm not too good with weave point.

I went back to the honeycomb from Coppergate today as I remember what my teacher hade done with the broken diamond I did earlier, that weave point some time adds shafts and treadles that are not needed, so I now got one less tredel and shaft. Yesterday I message an image of what I hade done on Monday to my teacher and she got very excited and told me today that she recognised it but not from Coppergate, but from Germany, and that she was to message a friend of hers that deal more with historic textiles to recollect and learn more about it. I also hade an introduction class on scarfs the sewing class will weave at the beginning of the next term, and I might do one to together with my classmate that is here from time to time.

Ther is a Swedish weaving magazine called the Weaving magazine, they do a copy in English as well. Anyway in my inbox today I hade gotten two pdf files one with an article about the 16 shaft fabric and one article about the honeycomb fabric I have been working on. Both from old issues of the Weave magazine. It was a good read and on the honeycomb front, I learned that several examples have been found all over Europe from the early Iron age. About the 16 shaft weave, I learned that it's from Delsbo, a town about 30 min away from her with a car. That the original fabrics were for cloths in a much finer quality than the pic I'm going to work with, and that it possibly was for weddings dresses for the upper class.
